About Hart Behaviour

Hart Behaviour was established in 2017 by companion animal behaviour consultant, Ashleigh Hart-McCafferty.

"I have had a passion for animals of all shapes and sizes since a young age. Growing up on a farm in the Eastern Cape allowed me to be exposed to all sorts of pets, including the usual dogs, cats and horses, but also sheep, goats, cows, rats etc. This has always been where I feel most at home.

Originally pursuing a career in film, I decided in 2014 that I needed a change. Having always wanted to work with animals, upon relocation to Johannesburg, I decided that it was time to make that dream a reality. And so I enrolled with COAPE SA for their diploma course. I have since graduated and am now a COAPE qualified, CAPBT SA affiliated companion animal behaviourist.

After recently moving back to the Eastern Cape, I am now offering my consulting services to clients in Kenton, Port Alfred, Grahamstown and the surrounding areas. I work primarily with dogs and cats, but  I am constantly expanding my skill set and I am open to the possibility of working with exotic pets and large animals too. I have also been involved in animal rescue and I am most passionate about helping abandoned and abused animals find the right forever home. Shelters needing any help with behavioural cases are more than welcome to e-mail me."

Hart Behaviour also offers one-on-one training sessions. If you have any queries regarding these, please feel free to get in touch.
